The company's output development, on record
In its latest published development news, Jason's team reported a 1000 mW-class output 275 nm UV-C device, developed from the base of its mass-produced 10 mW product line — a line the same report rates at 10,000 hours (company-published figures). Ask what documentation exists for the device class being quoted.
The 6868 format, as catalogued
The 6868 SMD format (the LED68 family: LED68c and LED68CGA in the catalogue) is the larger of the two catalogue format classes. The company's historical published development work includes high-output demonstrations built as arrays of 6868-packaged devices, recorded in industry coverage of the company's earlier development work. What a larger format class makes possible in a specific design — sustained drive level, emitter arrangement, optical aperture — depends on the model's construction, so per-model thermal construction and ratings are a documentation question for the named model — ask what is recorded — rather than something asserted for the format as a whole.
What a high-output enquiry states
- The duty: the medium, the exposure time and the duty cycle the design will run, stated in the enquiry.
- The geometry: the chamber, duct or enclosure cross-section the stage must serve.
- The service target: the service interval over which the design must hold its dose.
Specifying high-output parts
A high-output enquiry states four figures: total radiant output at the sustained (not pulse) drive point, output maintenance over the target service life, the thermal resistance budget of the mounting, and the optical distribution the reactor or chamber needs. All four are the buyer's to put on the table: state your targets in the enquiry and ask which of them the company can document for the device class being quoted, and on what measurement basis — whether measured data exists for a given class is itself part of what the exchange establishes. At this end of the range, a figure is only meaningful for a named device class on a stated measurement basis. Send the target band, dose and flow or geometry with your enquiry.
Thermal figures in the specification
A high-output specification is written around sustained drive at temperature: state the thermal budget of the target equipment — board material, heatsink path and operating temperature — in the enquiry, and ask which sustained-drive and thermal figures are documented for the device class being quoted, and on what measurement basis.
Development news versus production supply
Production supply and development news are two different things, and they should not be confused. Which device classes are in production supply, and what documentation is established for them, is confirmed per model in the enquiry exchange. Separately, the company's news reports the development of a 1000 mW-class device at 275 nm. Industry coverage recorded in the company's own product record also describes a 100 mW 6868-packaged module used for flowing-water sterilization, reported in 2017 as development work. An announcement is not a catalogue entry: enquiries about high-output requirements are answered against the catalogued classes and the documentation available for them, and any requirement beyond them is scoped individually in the quotation exchange.
